Priyanka Todi- i THOUGHT THat the baap beti relationship has gone far beyond the bloody, hackneyed plot of yesteryear muveez,, Alas, stories like these and those belongin to the Chiranjeevi-Shreeja types reiterate the communal ego that dominates parental thinking.

On a personal note, though my dad has been out of the country for almost 20 years now, has observed and participated in world culture a lot, he still expects me 2 marry sumone from the same community, region, religion, caste and class. It is indeed ironic, twisted and super-pathetic- with absolutely no offence meant to my dad.

You see my two-faced stand in my last sentence;I guess every daughter is caught in this wired parental quagmire- is it teh parents or the wud-be-husband?

I believe any balance could only be struck if there is a two-way dialogue, trust, open-mindedness and exposure. Medieval personal codes take time to be decrypted- the change is imminent, and needs to be holistic..
